The Police Federation is returning to the BIC for its national conference in May, and unlike any other organisation it will be staging three conferences at the same time.
Keith Carr, Police Federation conference and events manager, explains: “We hold separate conferences for constables, sergeants and inspectors before the whole federation comes together for the joint national conference which covers three days.
“The BIC is the only venue with three large conference rooms that can accommodate us in the same building, it just fits our requirements like a glove. And Bournemouth as a whole suits us as it has a wide variety of quality hotels to choose from for accommodation.”
The conferences, with keynote speaker Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, will be held in the Tregonwell Hall, Windsor Hall and Solent Hall over 19-22 May, with the Royal Bath Hotel acting as the event headquarters. The Police Federation has booked annual conferences at the BIC until 2013 and 2,500 people are expected to attend the May event and exhibition which will be staged in the Purbeck Hall and feature 88 stands.
