BIC has Just the Ticket!
The Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) has launched an innovative parking scheme that offers visitors a guaranteed parking space in the BIC multi-storey car park, as its website sees major growth in ticket sales!
On selected nights, visitors can pre-pay and reserve a parking space when booking tickets at the Ticket Offices or at a later date online. The 650 Pay and Display parking spaces at the BIC are open to the general public. At popular events, parking can be limited but this new service allows visitors to purchase a £6.50 ticket in advance to guarantee a space, when arriving between 5.00 and 9.00pm.
Mark Broadley, Operations Manager at the BIC and Pavilion said: “Finding a parking space can be an issue at the popular concerts so we have launched this reserved parking scheme to help eliminate this. Arriving late for an event can mean having to wait until the interval before being admitted. Pre-paying and guaranteeing a car parking space will cut out the worry and stress of parking your car for these concerts.”
The BIC also offers parking from under £2.50 a day through the five, six and seven day permits that are available for three, six or 12 month periods at the BIC multi-storey. These permits can also be used during the evenings and offer value for money for those who work in central Bournemouth or need to park frequently close to the town centre.
Since it was launched in January 2007, the new BIC and Pavilion website has seen an impressive rise in ticket sales. In 2006, X-Factor had the most website sales with 26% whereas in 2007 Bill Bailey’s event saw 44% usage. From 2006 to 2007, the website has seen a 10% increased use of ticket sales across all shows, rising from 21% to 31%. Statistics show that the BIC and Pavilion website is viewed nearly 5,500 times a day.
Gail Collins, Ticketing Manager at the BIC and Pavilion said: “The internet is a tool that people are getting more access to so this accounts for some of the increase in website ticket sales. However our website layout redesign last year has definitely made it easier for visitors to navigate the site and purchase tickets.”
