Barrie family’s flying visit to Pavilion Panto Peter Pan

The family of JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan, have come face to face with their ancestor’s creation, with no fewer than 14 relatives visiting the pantomime at the Bournemouth Pavilion. Four generations of the family gathered to experience the magic of JM Barrie’s classic story of the boy who never grows up.

Guest of honour was Mrs Patricia Barrie, 88, whose husband Alexander was JM Barrie’s great nephew. A RADA-trained actress, Mrs Barrie joined the cast on stage after the show with her family, including seven great grandchildren. “It was streets ahead of anything I’ve seen for years. It was so child-orientated, it was lovely,” she said.
