Booking Up a Storm at the BIC’s Wedding Show!
Bookings at the Bournemouth International Centre’s (BIC) annual Wedding Show, which took place at the end of last month, were at an all time high!
Louise Burridge, Exhibitions Manager at the BIC, said: “I have worked on the BIC Wedding Show for 18 years and the buzz around it this year was phenomenal. Perhaps with the current economic climate, people wanted to seize the day and take advantage of the offers some of our exhibitors had. Even visitor figures were the same as last year; just under 5,000 over the two and a half days, which is impressive considering all factors.”
Having performed at the Friday night preview and at other sessions during the show, male quartet 4Gone was inundated with bookings. Lee Zebedee of 4Gone said: “This was our first wedding show experience and we’ve been blown away by the response. At the show we confirmed 9 bookings and in the following week 6 more couples signed up – that’s 15 bookings in just 2 weeks and with another 50 solid contact details to follow up on! We’ll definitely be back again in 2010.”
Maria Bisp of Balloon Arcade said: “The show was a great success. We’ve had lots of enquiries and appointments as a direct result of the show and confirmed 6 bookings so far. In this climate, the audience that the BIC Wedding Show attracts is invaluable to our business.” Andrew King of Andy King Financial Services added: “During the course of the show, 143 people visited our stand and 8 appointments have been made, with more in the pipeline. We hadn’t exhibited before but based on this experience, we’re looking forward to 2010!”
Louise Burridge adds: “With such a variety across the 150 exhibitors there was enough to suit any taste, including adrenaline fuelled hen and stag ideas through to traditional ice cream bikes for your wedding day. Of the feedback forms completed by visitors, a near perfect 99% thought the show was good-excellent!”
New to the show, UK Powerboat Charter brought a zap cat into the BIC’s Windsor Hall! Cathy Manning of UK Powerboat Charter said: “Our Rib Charters followed by an afternoon Spa experience are a real favourite with hen parties, whereas stags love the fast and furious zap cat and rib rides. There was a huge amount of interest at the show!” Brock Ice was also on ‘stand’, offering the more conventional of wedding day ideas.
The 2010 BIC Wedding Show will take place on 5th to 7th February 2010. Don’t forget to visit the Autumn Wedding Fayre which takes place at the Bournemouth Pavilion on 26th and 27th September 2009.
