Plenty for Thrill Seekers at the BIC Wedding Show

The BIC’s Wedding Show is going full throttle this weekend! Look no further for adrenaline fuelled hen or stag activity ideas – exhibitor UK Powerboat Charter (on stand W80) can offer a mix of rib charter and zap cat and rib rides. Cathy Manning, Event Manager at UK Powerboat Charter said: “Our Rib Charters followed by an afternoon Spa experience are a real favourite with hen parties, whereas stags love the fast and furious zap cat and rib rides.”

If your idea of romance is more conventional - imagine fresh ice cream served to your guests from a traditional ice cream bike - make sure you get in line at Brock Ice (on stand S17). New to the event, UK Powerboat Charter and Brock Ice are just two of 150 exhibitors at the annual BIC Wedding Show proving there’s more than enough for every taste!

Opening with a bang on Friday 30th January at 5.00pm, the BIC Wedding Show’s free preview looks set to dazzle with snow and fire courtesy of Classic Fireworks (on stand W50). The Bride of the Year Competition winner will be announced, having been whittled down from 6 finalists, and will be presented with over £1,500 worth of goodies. Other preview entertainment includes live music from the performance stage in the Solent Hall, a fashion show in the Windsor Hall and finishes with a Cabaret act by local venue Rubyz, in the Solent Hall.

The Show runs from 10.00am-5.00pm on Saturday 31st January and from 11.00am-4.00pm on Sunday 1st February.  Louise Burridge, Exhibitions Project Manager said: “Despite times being hard, we’re still expecting a great turnout this weekend – approximately 5,000 people are anticipated over the two and a half days. With new and unique exhibitors like UK Powerboat Charter and Brock Ice our offering is extensive and diverse.”

Almost every aspect of planning a wedding is covered – from invitation stationery to speciality cakes, cars, venues, catering, flowers, fashion and even a wedding day kilt-wearing piper and a personal trainer who can offer fitness advice.

The full programme of entertainment includes daily fashion shows showing the latest designs in bridal and occasion wear and a special performance stage showcasing the talents of wedding singers and musicians. In addition, there is a de-stress zone with free mini treatments, and other specialist zones for hair, health and even one for the grooms which  includes a casino to entertain those who may like a ‘flutter’.

Louise Burridge adds: “Our theme this year is let your imagination run free – we recognise that creativity is important in making sure you achieve the desired result. And with such variety of exhibitors at the show, whether you are already knee deep in table plans and flower arrangements or you haven’t decided on your venue yet, speak to our exhibitors for ideas, tips and much more.”

Show visitors will also have the chance to win prizes including a party night at the lively and popular Rubyz club and a membership and personal training package offered by 1st Health Ltd of Bournemouth. There are additional competitions and special promotions arranged by individual exhibitors from among the wedding specialists which can be seen at the show.
