Childcare and Nursery Show Back With a Bang at the BIC

Following a successful show last year, the Childcare and Nursery Show is back at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) from Tuesday 8th July until Wednesday 9th July 2008. The show expects approximately 1,500 to 2,000 visitors over the two days.

Back with a bang, it will be officially opened by children’s TV presenter Dave Benson Phillips, star of programme’s like BBC’s Playdays and Get Your Own Back. Dave will open the exhibition on Tuesday morning and will then do a ‘walkabout’ greeting visitors and exhibitors.

Nearly 100 companies are exhibiting with inspirational and innovative products, such as educational toys, books, games, furniture, equipment, apparatus, playground equipment and more!

The show will feature a ‘Room to Learn’ presented by the Childcare Company, where visitors can experience the sounds and smells of the jungle. A free training package will give ideas on how to make indoor environments fun and stimulating for children, including how to make your own themed rooms. The Childcare Company can be found on Stand S69.

The show is organised by Ringwood-based Ocean Events Limited. Managing Director, Lorne Cheetham said: “The childcare and nursery industry is growing and worth an estimated £3.3 billion. We launched the show last year and it was so successful that we’ve come back to the BIC again this year. Our event has a wide appeal ranging from nursery owners and school groups to private child-carers.”

The exhibition is taking place in the Solent and Windsor Halls at the BIC from 10.00am until 4.00pm. Entry is free but the first 250 people who pre-register to attend, can claim a free breakfast from 10.00am until 11.30am. To pre-register, visit the organiser’s website - http://www.nurseryshow.co.uk/index.asp.

The Childcare Workforce Development Council Advice Centre (CWDC) will be providing information relating to the Early Years Professional Status on Stand S72.
