Wednesday 12th August marks the 25 day count down to the BIC’s 25th birthday! As part of the birthday celebrations, the BIC will be giving out free raffle tickets to the first 25 people through the doors of the BIC each day, starting on Wednesday. A raffle will be drawn in the BIC’s foyer on Saturday 5th September by Kyran Bracken at 5pm, after the matinee performance of his Ice Party. First prize is 25 tickets to shows at the BIC, plus there will be 5 runner-up prizes of 5 tickets each.
Not only is the BIC offering the chance to win free tickets*, it is offering the lucky winners the choice of tickets to some of the BIC’s sold out shows, including Michael McIntyre, Lily Allen and Tom Jones to name just a few. Gail Collins, Event Sales and Marketing Manager at the BIC and Pavilion, said: “It will be great to see local people taking part in the BIC’s birthday, after all we are here to provide quality entertainment in Bournemouth and this competition is all about giving access to brilliant shows to the winning customers.”
Former England International rugby player Kyran Bracken will draw the raffle with the help of his celebrity friends. He will also cut a birthday cake to mark the BIC’s 25th birthday which falls the following day, Sunday 6th September. Kyran’s final performance that night will be a special gala performance to honour the BIC’s birthday.
Since it opened in 1984 the BIC has evolved from a ‘two hall’ centre into an award winning 4 auditorium, multi-purpose venue – recognised as one of the UK’s top Entertainment, Conference, Exhibition and Event venues. Three and a half years of building and £17m worth of investment later, the BIC threw open its doors on Thursday 6th September 1984.
Hailed as the jewel in Bournemouth’s crown when it opened, the BIC has certainly seen its fair share of action, what with hosting all the main political parties several times over the years and seeing international stars like Elton John and Shirley Bassey grace its stage.
