Bournemouth Youth Theatre (BYT) and characters from Adventure Wonderland, including Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter, are hosting children’s workshops during the Pavilion’s Open Day on Sunday 29th March, as part of the 80th Anniversary celebrations.
Gail Collins, Event Sales and Marketing Manager at the BIC and Pavilion said: “The Open Day is a great opportunity for the whole family, from grandparents to grandchildren, to get involved and enjoy the free activities on offer. The children’s workshops are an ideal chance for the rest of the family to watch the activities in the Theatre or go to the tea dance in the Ballroom.”
So you want to perform? is the theme of the BYT workshops and children with an interest in performing are encouraged to come along to the taster session where they can learn about and take part in dancing and acting with professional teachers, including Michael Tomkins. The sessions will last from half an hour to an hour and take place from 11.00am, 1.15pm and 3.45pm.
Adventure Wonderland will also be hosting three fun filled sessions that will last from half an hour to an hour at 12.20pm, 2.30pm and 5.00pm. There will be party games and dancing galore and a feast of Wonderland goodies given away as prizes throughout the day. You may even spot some of the Adventure Wonderland characters roaming around the Pavilion!
Tickets for the workshops are free but must be reserved, as there is a maximum of 50 children per session, either via the Ticketline 0844 576 3000 or at the BIC and Pavilion Ticket Offices. Any remaining tickets will be available on the Open Day.
Both the BYT and Adventure Wonderland workshops will be taking place in the Lucullus Room at the Pavilion, which is underneath the Ballroom. Children of any age are welcome to attend and do not have to be accompanied by an adult.
