READY TO RHUMBA AT THE BIC - UK DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Get ready to rhumba alongside the world’s top dancers at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) this month (19-22 January 2009) at the prestigious UK Dance Championships a show that’s packed with quickstepping action as well as a free entry Shopping Mall where dancers of all abilities can buy the latest clothes and accessories.

Over 1,000 dancers will be coming from around the world to take part in the UK Rising Stars competition on the 20 January, followed on 21 and 22 January by the highly competitive Dance Championships, watched by hundreds of spectators.

The event is expected to be more popular than ever, with opportunities to see the world’s best budding and more experienced dancers gliding and jiving across the Windsor Hall  and shop for clothes and accessories at the UK Dance Shopping Mall in the Solent Hall.  It’s a “must” for any dance fan, says Louise Burridge, exhibitions project manager for the BIC.

“Dance is now hugely popular and a great way to keep fit and this event will provide inspiration for people of all skill levels.  Watch the experts strut their stuff or simply just call in to the free Dance Shopping Mall where you can shop for dance shoes, accessories and beautiful spangly, swishy and designer dance wear,” she says.

The show is organised by BIC exhibitions and the UK Rising Stars and dance competitions are presented by Dance News Special Projects Ltd.   Entry is free to the Shopping Mall.  There is still some availability for tickets to view the dance competitions, bookable through the BIC box office.  Prices to watch the daytime sessions start from £10.00 per person. The evening dance competitions on 21 and 22 January start at 7.30pm, with ticket prices from £15.
