Author of Watership Down, Richard Adams, will be making a special appearance at the Bournemouth International Centre’s annual Christmas Gift Show. He will be signing copies of his books all day, on Saturday 21st November. Open on Saturday between 10am-5pm and Sunday 22nd November, between 10am-4pm in the BIC’s Solent Hall, you can expect a festive and fun packed two day event with gifts galore.
Richard Adams’ classic Watership Down inspired artist Aldo Galli to paint scenes from the famous book. Galli will be displaying his paintings, based on the book, at the show on both days. It will be a white Christmas as Chris Jarvis, who is starring in Bournemouth’s pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Pavilion Theatre, will be on hand to open the show!
This year the show is bigger and better than ever – and Father Christmas will also make an appearance with his fairy helper. With nearly 100 exhibitors offering gifts, demonstrations, competitions and workshops for adults and children, the show has Christmas all wrapped up for you under one roof! Gift ideas range from card making kits to oil paintings, exquisite jewellery to leather handbags, handmade soaps to homemade candles, Christmas decorations to teddy bears and even festive treats like chutneys and cheese.
There will be a Free Children’s Party Zone with Mr Merlin and Oakey Dokey the Dragon and a disco and party games running throughout the weekend. There will also be a free demonstration zone for adults including working with clay, painting with watercolour and acrylic paints and paper crafts plus Art & Craft workshops in the Children’s Activity Zone run by Little Splodges.
Tickets cost £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for seniors and accompanied children 16 and under. Look out for ticket offers on leaflets and in the local press. Tickets are available at the show.
