More than 700 researchers, academics, and students from 41 countries recently visited Bournemouth for the European Conference on Visual Perception. Held at Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), the conference reinforced the town's reputation as a leading destination for conferences and business events.

Hosted at the BIC from 23-27 August, the international event welcomed delegates from 364 institutions worldwide to share the latest developments in visual perception research and neuroscience. The conference was organised by Dr Anna Metzger and Dr Matteo Toscani from Bournemouth University's School of Psychology.

The event also provided opportunities for students to showcase their work to an international audience. Eight Bournemouth University students, ranging from undergraduate to PhD level, presented research projects and dissertations, gaining valuable experience and feedback from leading experts in their field.

The conference highlighted the growing importance of research into how people perceive and interact with the world around them, with potential applications across healthcare, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and technology design.
