Hundreds of world-class echocardiography speakers, experts, and leaders recently attended the British Society of Echocardiography’s (BSE) 34th annual conference, BSEcho 2025, at Bournemouth International Centre.
Over the course of two days, specialists from across the UK and further afield came together to learn about new techniques, share best practices, and discuss the latest innovations in their field.
From hands-on practical sessions to interactive masterclasses, BSEcho 2025 offered delegates a rich programme of learning and innovation.
Attendees immersed themselves in skills-based group sessions to progress their learning and development, such as simulator sessions and the opportunity to try the latest echocardiography equipment and kit.
With the addition of interactive masterclasses, plenary sessions on national healthcare strategy and clinical discussions, delegates left with new tools, refined techniques, and renewed energy in driving echocardiographic practice forward.
On behalf of BSE, Jo Sopala, Chief Executive Officer, shared;
“Working in, and in support of, the NHS can feel relentless at the moment, which is why coming together to give people the time and space to think and reignite their passions for echocardiography is so important. Bournemouth provided the breath of fresh air we all needed, and we hope that all delegates left feeling inspired and reinvigorated.
“The BSE team would like to thank everyone at the BIC for helping us to support and uplift the echocardiography community. The team could not have done more to assist and welcome us.”
Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) is one of the UK’s premier conference venues and the South Coast’s largest year-round conference, exhibition, and entertainment venue. Throughout the year, the venue has hosted high-profile political conferences, national congresses, and specialist association gatherings.
The contribution to the local economy that events such as this makes, stretches far beyond the venue’s walls, with delegates staying in local hotels, eating and drinking in restaurants, and visiting local attractions, bringing vital secondary spend across Bournemouth. This is also strengthening Bournemouth’s reputation as one of the UK’s leading coastal destinations for conferences and events.
Since 2010, the venue has been operated by registered charity BH Live in partnership with BCP Council.
On behalf of BH Live, Sarah Stainer, Conference & Exhibitions Manager, said;
“Events like BSEcho bring together people who are passionate about improving lives through healthcare innovation, and it’s inspiring to welcome this collaboration here on the South Coast. We’re proud that the BIC continues to provide the space and support needed for important national conversations like this.”
