What The World Needs Now – The Burt Bacharach Songbook expands beyond its sold-out Royal Albert Hall debut due to overwhelming demand.

Following overwhelming demand after its originally announced one-night-only performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London, this incredible evening of homage to one of music's greatest names has expanded into an additional run of eight UK dates this October, including one at the Bournemouth International Centre.

Led by Burt Bacharach’s long-time musical director Rob Shirakbari and performed with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, this spectacular production celebrates one of the most influential and enduring songwriters of all time.

The evening will feature special guest performances from acclaimed UK artist Rumer, who worked closely with Bacharach, alongside Mercury Prize-nominated singer-songwriter Ed Harcourt, known for his rich, soulful vocals and distinctive songwriting. Additional special guests are set to be announced in the coming weeks.

Audiences can expect a night of timeless music, with a setlist including some of Bacharach’s most beloved classics such as “The Look of Love,” “Walk on By,” “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head,” “Anyone Who Had a Heart,” “Make It Easy On Yourself” and the iconic anthem “What The World Needs Now Is Love.”

Burt Bacharach remains one of the most decorated songwriters in modern music history, with a catalogue boasting 73 US Top 40 hits and 52 UK Top 40 hits, alongside three Academy Awards, six Grammy Awards and an Emmy. His songs have been recorded by hundreds of artists across multiple generations and genres, cementing his legacy as a true musical icon.

Rob Shirakbari began working with Bacharach in his teens and went on to become his long-time musical director, arranger and orchestrator, helping shape the sound of his live performances for decades.

This special Bournemouth date offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience these timeless songs brought to life by world-class musicians in one of the South Coast’s premier venues.
